Why Bother With This Page Then?#

Because recommendations deserve transparency regardless. If we ever add affiliate relationships, this is what you can expect:

  1. Clear labeling. Affiliate links will be marked in context, and this page will be updated with the specific programs we participate in.
  2. No link swaps. We’d link to the product either way — affiliate tags change nothing about what we recommend or how we rank it.
  3. Disclosure stays. FTC guidelines (and basic honesty) require it, and you’ll never have to hunt for it.

Our Recommendation Principles#

  • We recommend tools we believe are genuinely good for privacy, not the ones with the best payouts
  • Where a product has weaknesses, we say so in the same breath
  • Free and open-source alternatives are always listed when they exist
